Julia Forte is a self taught artist / designer and has been running her own small business for almost 20 years . Julia’s current collection of works re interprets the structures and forms hidden within our internal scaffolding and each painting is presented to the viewer as an abstraction from familiar human anatomy.
Some of the work is presented as sections of bone not immediately recognizable as parts of the human body, thus luring the viewer to conjure up their own ideas of what the piece might be.
The paintings depict the body’s internal structure and reveal the beauty and architecture of the human body .These structures are explored by extracting sections which display complex patterns or forms, giving the viewer not only the opportunity to see something they may not have seen before but also to present anatomical art with a more creative, less clinical edge.
Julia works mainly in oil on canvas or wood and some studies are in pencil on white Italian plaster.
She has also cast sections of the human spine and ribs in pewter for private commissions and a number of collaborations with other artists , designers and fashion designers.
